Grow your game through competition

In addition to weekly training, we encourage players to enter tournaments and events to gain match experience and build confidence. These competitions contribute to your Universal Tennis Rating (UTR) and are mostly run through Tennis Australia or directly via the UTR platform.

What is UTR?

UTR stands for Universal Tennis Rating — a global system that gives players a score from 1.00 to 16.00 based on their match results.
It’s a useful way to track progress, find suitable competition, and be placed in the right squad level at Scarborough Tennis.

Getting Started with Tournaments

If you’re new to tournament play, here’s what you need to do:

✅ Step 1: Create a Tennis Australia profile and register for events
✅ Step 2: Sign up for a free UTR profile
✅ Step 3: Link your Tennis Australia and UTR profiles
✅ Step 4: Check out the upcoming Tournament Calendar
✅ Step 5: Enter events via the UTR platform
